West Nile Virus

Sept. 21, 2022

The Garland Health Department (GHD) has confirmed a WNV positive mosquito pool in the 3100 block of Big Oaks. Mosquito spraying will occur during the nighttime hours, pending weather conditions. We cannot spray when it's raining.

Past positive pools have been confirmed at:

4400 block of Colgate - Aug. 30, 2022

1300 block N Jupiter - Aug. 9, 2022

GHD has been trapping at 27 selected locations per week since the first week of May.

Thus far in 2022, no WNV human cases have been confirmed in the City of Garland, but residents are still urged to take preventative measures.
